Unless other arrangements are made, all classes begin at 9 am on Saturday morning and conclude at 5:30 PM.  We leave 30 minutes for lunch and there are a multitude of restraunts/fast food joints to cater to every need or you can bring your own lunch to enjoy it without leaving.

You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to tide you through the class.

Smoking is only allowed outdoors during breaks.

We meet in a classroom in the basement of my house at 501 N Dale Ave in McHenry, IL. Don't be surprised or alarmed when your GPS leads you into a residential subdivision.

You do not need to bring firearms the first week. We will practice with my firearms and laser cartridges. You are welcome to bring your own firearms for the qualification shoot held on the morning of the second training day. Those wishing to use my firearms are welcome to do so for the cost of ammunition. You will also want your own "eyes" and "ears" (eye protection and ear protection). It is best to leave your firearms secured in your vehicles unless you have some questions about it you hope to have me or someone in the class answer for you.

I require your driver's license (or other Illinois ID) and FOID card (unless you are applying for it along with your CCL) as proof of who you are before a certificate can be awarded at completion.  Assuming you show safe gun handling skills and passing shooting skills, you will receive your CCL Training Certificate at the end of the second day of class.  Unless you have already done so, you may wish to begin your online registration by establishing your account with the Illinois State Police (ISP).

Class prices include only the cost of class itself.
A range fee of $10 per person became necessary as ranges increased their costs for classes to use their facilities for the mandatory Illinois State CCL Qualification Shoot. Class prices do not include the cost of ammunition.  Those choosing to use our guns for qualification must use my ammunition or buy it from the range AT THE TIME WE GO for the qualification shoot.  Illinois State Police application fees (currently $150), fingerprinting fees ($65 if you decide to submit them) or any other fees that may eventually be assessed by Illinois as part of the process to receive your CCL are not included in our price.
